In music lessons every student comes from a different background and brings different capacities and interests to the school. I always create a personal lesson plan for everybody to make sure that we work on the right things to progress in the most beneficial way.
For me it is fundamental to convey joy! We play also little games in the lessons and can try out different things to learn the content in the most fun way.
Improvisation is an important topic to me . The big question is: How to learn how to play a good solo that will make the listeners happy ?
By using creative methods I try to stimulate every pupil to go out of their comfort zone and try new things. That can be a bit difficult in the first moment but I can promise you that afterwords you´ll say: „Oh that was fun“ or “ I didn´t know I could do that with my instrument“ . Teaching improvisation I consider myself as an artist with a strong jazz background. Besides jazz we can also look into other genres like pop, folk or rock music, if you want to learn a specific way of playing a solo.
My way of communication is open and welcoming. That means that mistakes are allowed and everybody is welcome. You can always give me feedback after the lesson or directly when you feel uncomfortable or in doubt about something. It is very appreciated if the student is willing to learn and makes an effort to study frequently.
